    ‘Stan’ Mokjang

During the past years, Mokja Young-kwan Cho and Mokyeo Nuri Bae have served together in the Joy Mokjang (Mokja Jung-hwan Cho). Last year when Mokja Jung-hwan Cho was invited to Korea as a guest scholar, the two substituted for his role and lead the Joy Mokjang in his place.

Even though serving the Mokjang was not easy due to the COVID-19 pandemic, God did many things through them. God continuously led them to souls to serve; the two, following that calling, have been putting their whole heart into serving those new spirits.

It seems that Mokja Jung-hwan Cho’s stay in Korea will be longer than the assumed year. Hence, we are planning to separate the Mokja Young-kwan Cho and Mokyeo Nuri Bae into a new Mokjang. This is so that they can independently serve in their own ministry.  The two have chosen to serve Ho-gwan Seo, a missionary serving in Kyrgyzstan who has visited our church before. The name of the new Mokjang is ‘Stan’. It contains their ambitious aspiration to serve all nations whose names end with ‘stan’. The name personally makes me smile because it also has the same feeling as the word ‘Star’.

The ‘New-Mokjang Celebration’ will take place on the Sunday of July 4. This is exactly Independence Day. I feel that the meaning fits in quite amusingly well since it will also be a day when they become the spiritual mother and father of a new independent, spiritual family. I hope that July 4 will become a day of celebration for all of us. I ask that you all pray and bless them together.

I pray that they become the Lord’s feet and hands and that God’s grace will overflow in their ministry where they will wash the feet of the church.
