This past week I was at the meeting where pastors from eight different churches gathered together to seek God’s will and receive ministry coaching from Pastor Youngki Choi. Before his retirement, Pastor Youngki Choi brilliantly pastored the Houston Seoul Church, and he is currently exerting greater influence by overseeing the general house church ministry as a whole. Knowing how many churches and pastors he had cared for and was serving, each message that came out of his mouth felt like treasure. It was thankful just to be able to taste his wisdom and each step of the journey Pastor Choi undertook seeking God.
During this time, I was also able to share the circumstances of our church's shepherds and shepherdesses to the participating pastors. Many responded telling me they received grace from hearing how each shepherd and shepherdess responded and interpreted the seemingly difficult circumstances and the stories of their journey in shepherding.
Preparing for the upcoming House Church Conference for Lay Leaders that our church is hosting this October, I inquired of God what message He wanted to share to the world through our church. The answer that came to my heart was this: “God would want to boast about our church.” God’s perspective on this boasting, of course, would be different from the perspective of the world. Beloved shepherds and shepherdesses, have faith. Our Lord knows and recognizes us.
