The Nashua Baptist Church, our landlord church, is raising money to install a floor lift (elevator) for those who have mobility issues. It is financially strenuous project, but it is pleasing to see that Nashua Baptist Church is making a sacrifice to help those in need. Until now, for those who are physically needy could not attend the communal lunch or had to exit through the front door and head down from the hill to the 1st floor. But it was not an easy path because some parts of the hill can be steep. This has been a concern for Hanmaum Church as well and it was shame to see those in need not having the same comfort as us. I appreciate Nashua Baptist Church for making such a big decision and taking a lead on this project.

Nashua Baptist Church and Nashua Hanmaum Church have been together for over 20 years. The bond we have together is more than a simple landlord and tenant relationship.  It must not have been easy for them to share their building with the community of different culture, but they have been generous to let us use the building to the fullest extent. For instance, House Church Pastor Conference back in May would not have been possible without their support and consideration.  Nashua Baptist Church is like a brother Church. We are growing together while supporting each other’s ministry.

This elevator project is such a demanding project that it is tough for them to complete it by themselves alone. It would be nice if our church is able to fund even a little portion of it.

This elevator is not an everyday elevator but a specialized elevator for those who are not physically fortunate. Nashua Baptist Church pastor put it as “big fancy (through floor) lift”. It has a door, and it will be installed between the entrance of the main sanctuary and the preschool area. Because it is a specialized elevator, only the authorized operator can assist the passenger. One or two members of our church will be trained as well for this purpose. In fact, this elevator is not for most of us, but it is only for those who need it.

Please pray for it this week and if you want to join the effort, please make a special offering next week (29th).  Please indicate in the offering that it is for this cause. We will pass the collected offering to Nashua Baptist Church.
