As I left for the pilgrimage, I prayed for a deeper understanding of God’s heart. In this journey, I can sense him leading me to a path in which I can understand his thoughts and feelings better. But the circumstances I ran into were not all pleasant ones. They were not all relaxing, enjoyable and jolly. As I look back, I can see that in my prayers, I was continuously asking for a challenge. The corner of my heart is telling me that I should have prayed to ask for a restful, educational and pleasant trip instead.

Sometimes we meet people who we just cannot love and experience how deep God’s love is.  We not only see the beautiful creation of God in this world but also run into ugly and rotten corners as well. I found the pieces of rocks from 2000 years ago, but what I saw was Jesus watching the same rocks. I thought about what Jesus would have felt

I urge you that you don’t become Mokja and Mokyeo if you want an easy ride in your life’s journey as Christians.  Being Mokja and Mokyeo isn’t always enjoyable. However, if you want to discover the heart of God and follow his heart, there is nothing more valuable than being Mokja and Mokyeo.

Mokja and Mokyeo should look at the situations they run into from the perspectives of God and pray for it. As they deal with these situations, they should be able to feel what God feels. Then someday they will find themselves standing beside God.

Even those who are not (or not able to be) Mokja and Mokyeo, the principle and the goal of faithful life are the same. “God let us understand your heart and be united with it”. It is my hope that this becomes our prayer and life.
