    Heartwarming Houses Churches

“Really? Shall I come?”. This question should be fresh in your memory from the last edition of  “Echoes of Love”. It was from one of the pastors who visited us. He was offering help for the House Church Pastor Conference. Recently I talked to him on the phone. He was asking what was challenging while preparing for the Conference. I answered, “Preparing meals for many attendees is not trivial”. This was a true statement indeed because a lot of manpower would be needed to serve the meals timely each day. But he asked me to ease the stress on the  church members preparing for the Conference. He jokingly said “Nowadays, it is too much food that kills, not less food. Pastors at the Conference should be thankful for having something to  eat”.

He also offered to help saying “Let me send some sisters from our Church”. He was saying this because he knew that we lacked people and finance. I was deeply touched by his kind offer and  caring heart because he and I knew that in House Church Ministry, each brother and sister’s  dedication is really precious.

The offer to help did not stop here. One of the pastors’ wife attending the Conference said she would bring frozen meat to serve one of the meals. Another Pastor’s wife gave us advice on the easily overlooked areas of the Conference. There was a pastor who offered to help transport pastors around. One pastor even said not to worry about the ride and that he would find his ways around to the Conference. Some offered the plates needed for the meals and others offered to help us financially. And indeed, they sent us large checks to help with the Conference. We also received many kind notes of support, thanks and encouragement.

But please don’t give me wrong. I did not ask or beg them for help =). These pastors attending the Conference are veterans. They know that we might need help just by quick glimpse at our Church’s condition such as the number of Mokjangs. Above all the measurable help they are giving us, I most appreciate their warm hearts. They are putting themselves in our shoes and trying to help us. I really love this kind of mindset. Among the pastors, their wives, and  missionaries in House Church Ministry, there are many like this. They are really like brothers and sisters that I want to be like. And guess what? You will see them in face at the Conference  this coming April!

So far was introduction of the pastors that we would be serving at the Conference.
